Yellow Buckeye
The Yellow Buckeye Tree, ‘Aesculus octandra,’ produces small creamy yellow or occasionally pink flowers from late spring to early summer. The flowers appear in six-inch panicles and are followed by the fruits, which each contain two to four seeds. These nuts are attractive to squirrels. This is a highly ornamental tree. Its dark green leaves will fade to yellow before falling, and its dark brown bark will become furrowed as it matures. The Yellow Buckeye may be also known as the Big Buckeye, Large Buckeye, Ohio Buckeye or Sweet Buckeye.
