The harvest will, however, be later in the year than many other types of cherry. The large, richly flavored sweet cherries are nearly black in color. This is an excellent cherry for eating fresh, and is resistant to cracking. The trees will eventually reach fifteen to sixteen feet in height. The Stella cherry will pollinate a Bing cherry tree, except in mild winter climates. Birds are also a big fan of the Stella cherry tree.
